Sittin' Pretty

As I have said before, Marisa has started sitting! I still have to be close to her because she can flop to the floor kinda hard, but she gets better and better at it everyday. My pretty precious baby!


For some reason she started coughing while I was taking a picture. This picture is hilarious!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Irvine Park Railroad this afternoon to have some fall fun with good friends of ours. The park had a hayride, a train ride, picture stands, a haunted house, a haymaze, and best of all, a pumpkin patch! It felt good to get out and enjoy the cool fall atmosphere.

Marisa and Emma really enjoyed each other and they were so happy looking at everything! It was really hard to get them to look at the camera because they were so distracted with all the fun things.

A Blanket Burrito

I had laid Marisa onto a completely flat blanket before I took a shower. When I got out of the shower, Marisa had somehow rolled herself up into a burrito.

Daddy's Little Girl

Despite the fact that I slave all day and that every ounce of my being is dedicated to making Marisa happy and comfortable, she is totally a "Daddy's Girl". Even though Tim has been out of town for the past two weeks, Marisa still knows her daddy and wants to spend every waking minute with him.
In fact, every morning Marisa will not go to sleep for her morning nap until daddy is gone. It is so funny because literally the second he shuts the door she is ready. If I try to put her down before he leaves, forget it! Also, whenever I put my arms out to Marisa for her to come to me she doesn't really come to me, only sometimes, but Tim just has to stand near us and she will very happily lunge forward to him. Marisa will also smile anytime daddy even looks at her. She watches his every move and you can see it in her eyes that all she wants to do is be with him. A couple of times Marisa has rolled right next to Tim's stomach and nestled herself right next to him to cuddle. And lately, Marisa will crawl to him no matter where he is in the room and just chill next to him. Today she crawled underneath the coffee table to place her head on his feet and just laid there.

Daddy made her smile during dinner today when she decided to wear her oatmeal cereal on her face. Doesn't that face just say, "I'm daddy's little girl" all over it?!

I introduced Marisa to carrots today. She LOVED it! Marisa would say, "MMMmmm" and then open her mouth really wide for more.

There was hardly a break between bites!

Elbows and Knees

Before babies first start to crawl, they get on their hands and knees, rock back and forth, and then slowly over time, they begin to crawl. But the rocking back and forth is kinda the basis of learning how to crawl. Well, Marisa did just that this morning, but put her own twist on it. She was on her elbows and knees instead.
While I was getting for the day, Marisa was playing on the floor in our living room. I needed to wait for my hair straightner to heat up so I decided to go play with Marisa for a little bit. I just sat there watching her trying to reach for a toy. She usually rolls around and twists in all sorts of ways to get to the toy but this morning she decided to do something else! She got on her elbows and knees, rocked back and forth, and then lunged forward with one hand up so she can reach her toy! I freaked out!!! I think I scared her because she looked at me like, "Ok, crazy lady." Like any mother, I smoothered her with kisses and praise because she is starting yet another milestone in her life. A minute later she did it again! This time she looked at me and smiled right after. Tim and I better watch out! Marisa will soon be taking over the house! Oh wait, she already does...haha.

Good-bye September

September has come and gone. Time is definetly flying by. Marisa is now 5 months old going on 6 months. Here are a few random pictures of her during September!

So this was soo random. During dinner she just leaned back in her Bumbo and stayed like that for awhile. I guess it was comfortable?!
