First Ear Infection and Sore Throat

It has finally happened. Marisa got her first ear infection and sore throat. For several days Marisa had been extremely clingy and whiny, but I just ignored it because I thought she was just being difficult due to her cold. But a couple of days ago I couldn't take it anymore. She was acting so miserable and just hard to handle and so I made an appointment to go to the doctor's office. It wasn't until I was dialing the number that it finally clicked in my head that she could have an ear infection.
And well, according to the nurse it was a pretty bad ear infection. And apparently Marisa has a high pain tolerance because when the nurse asked me if she woke up often at night and I replied "not really only once", she was really shocked. She then told me pain tolerance was genetic and let me tell ya, it is not from me, that's for sure! I feel bad that I didn't bring her in sooner but instead just let her suffer for several days. But I never experienced an ear infection with my child before. I guess that is what happens when you are the oldest, guinea pig child. Sorry Marisa, I love you! I'm glad you are feeling better!

No more wisdom

Exactly one week ago I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed. I was beyond scared before surgery because I was afraid of "going under". I mean, you get anesthesia through an IV and in two seconds you fall asleep with no recollection of what is about to happen!? That is just scary!
And for me I didn't remember the surgery plus several hours after it. I didn't really wake up or became aware of my surroundings until I woke up on my couch with my mouth in immense pain, gauzes full of blood, and a massive headache. I really didn't remember anything! And apparently after the surgery the doctor told me about my medicine and other important information, he also put my seat belt on for me when I was in the car, I even reached behind Kari's seat to grab my cell phone because it was ringing (even though I didn't know what to do with it once I had it in my hand...haha), and I even sprawled my body on the floor once I got into my living room. haha And I don't remember any of that!!
All I remember is my doctor saying, "Ok you are going to start feeling fuzzy." And then...black. And then I remember being in the car and Kari on the phone with Tim saying, "Yeah, she seems kinda out of it." And then I remember Kari helping me at the top of my stairs and me saying, "I think I'm going to throw up." And that is absolute it. That is about 4 seconds of several hours. And then I woke up on my couch, called Tim, and began to cry because I couldn't talk, he couldn't understand me at all, and I was so confused. haha

The next day after surgery! I couldn't even smile.

Well, I survived a week and I am amazed how much progress I have made since day one. I didn't think I would ever eat again or look normal again.
But a huge thanks to Kari for driving me, waiting on me, watching Marisa all day for me, giving me my meds(haha), and just being a huge support and help. And a special thanks to Tim for taking over everything in the house all weekend, feeding me jello, letting my sleep, and basically being my maid. You are an amazing husband and thanks for taking care of me. I love you guys!

Angels Playoff Game

We were invited to go to an Angels playoff game last night and it was so fun! The atmosphere was pretty exciting and the energy level of the fans was crazy. Even though the Angels lost to the Red Sox it was a very fun to go out and be with adults. Thanks guys!

Boredom...

So I had my wisdom teeth taken out this past Thursday and so I have been in pain, tired, on drugs, lazy, on the couch 24/7, and obviously bored because it has lead me to actually answering these questions I see on other people's blogs. Soo enjoy I guess. haha

1.Where is your cell phone? On the counter by the house phone
2. Your significant other? My love, Tim!
3. Your hair? Kinda frustrating. In my head I know what I want but it never comes out that way. I just want long, sexy hair that always looks great, is that too much to ask? I need Ken Paves.
4. Your mother? Crazy. Just kidding. A hard worker.
5. Your father? Talented.
6. Your favorite thing? This is hard. I have a lot of favorite things but I guess I will have to say, cuddling.
7. Your dream last night? Well, I just got my wisdom teeth taken out so the drugs have made me have some of the most vivid and wildest/weirdest dreams ever. And I can't remember which one of them was from last night. haha
8 Your favorite drink? JUICE!! Any kind of juice. All juices. I LOVE juice!
9. Your dream/goal? To raise righteous children in the gospel.
10. The room you’re in? The living room, my home the past few days.
11. Your hobby? For me it is hard to do my absolute favorite hobbies as a stay at home mom because I like to be out and active. But if I had the time and resources I would definetly be dancing all of the time. But for now I just find creative ways to decorate my house.
12. Your fear? Someone hurting my daughter or future kids in any way.
13. Where do you want to be in 6 years? That would make me 30, (yikes!), so I want to be done having kids by then and in a home.
14. What you’re not? I'm not creative and crafty on my own. Once I learn how to do something I am good at it, but I can't think of how to do something on my own.
15. Muffins? Oh yes please! I really like these carrot muffins I make. Yummy!
16. One of your wish list items? I actually really do have a wish list and it's long. haha And one of the items is a mahogany bed frame from pottery barn.

23. Your mood? I'm ok right now. My teeth hurt and I'm tired.

31. Last time you cried? Today while watching Oprah. Two moms hooked on heroine, one with a 4 year old little girl and 5 months pregnant, and another mom with a 13 month old baby boy. My heart was aching so much for those children.
