Winter Wonderland

Today we had our first of many Christmas activities in London. Christmas in London is going to be no less than spectacular if it keeps going like this!  We literally have every single weekend booked with something to do from here until the end of the year. Can't wait!
Anyways, first, we went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Absolutely magical and mesmerizing for my girls and even pretty amazing to see for me and Tim.  All the lights aglow, the sounds of Christmas bells and music filling the chilly air, German bratwursts roasting... It was fantastic.

When you first enter Winter Wonderland you enter "Angels Market" where there are loads of Christmas stalls and food stalls. The girls thought the talking mouse head was pretty cool.

Once you pass the markets the endless carnival games begin.  And of course, loads of food and candy. I can't think of anything more magical for a kid than carnival rides and the girls love carousel rides to be exact. And nothing makes me happier than to see their excitement all over their faces when on rides!

SantaLand is of course where Santa awaits. While we waited in line to see him Marisa told the elf that she wanted a pony for Christmas. A real one. Yikes! When she replied that she only makes toys Marisa settled for a toy pony instead. Phew!

I like Natalie's facial expression in the picture below. Her face reads, "You are not Santa. You smell like beef and cheese." Actually, Santa was pretty legit looking and sounding. He was super nice to the girls and gave them each a whistle for coming to see him!

It naturally doesn't take much to distract Marisa, but all the sights and activities in Winter Wonderland were pulling her in all different directions at the same time. She was so easily distracted by seriously everything we saw. She couldn't even take her eyes off this huge talking tree!

It is not a proper outing unless there are treats involved. A sugar coated donut break by the German village is a must. And don't forget all the German beer and German bratwursts! (For everyone else of course.)

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire....

Already looking forward to our next Christmas weekend! Merry Christmas everybody!
